Static Templates

How to publish static templates

While placecode's primary focus is on dynamic templates, we also understand that there are cases where static templates can serve as valuable starter projects. Static templates provide fixed features that can be sufficient for certain projects, saving time and effort for developers who don't need the flexibility of dynamic templates.

Step 1: GitHub Repository Setup

Static templates can be any GitHub repository that serves as a starting point for a project. To include your static template on placecode.io, you need to host your template on GitHub.

Step 2: Template Submission on placecode.io

Once your static template is available on GitHub, head to the placecode.io/creator page to submit your template. Provide the link to your GitHub repository, which contains your static template.

Step 3: Validation and Verification

The next step involves validating your template. During the validation process, placecode.io will run your repository through various checks and verification functions to ensure that it meets the required criteria for a static template. If your template passes all the validation checks, it will be considered valid and eligible for submission.

Step 4: Manual Submission of Features

As static templates lack a placecode.json file with predefined features, you will need to manually specify the template's features during the submission process on placecode.io. This manual submission allows you to describe the features included in your template, providing clarity for potential users.

Step 5: Template Submission

After successful validation and manual feature submission, your static template will be made available on placecode.io for other developers to explore and utilize.
